Poly-hexamethylene-guanidine hydrochloride is a water-soluble polymer which being a cationic surface-active agent, fulfils a function of flocculent.

However, at the same time it is also a highly effective disinfectant with a wide spectrum of biocidal action, since it contains in its structure a guanidine group, which is the active ingredient of many natural and synthetic antiseptics and drugs.

In a water, PHMG-HCH effectively suppresses various types of microorganisms: gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (including Mycobacterium tuberculosis), viruses, various fungi, budding fungi, mold and algae.

Poly-hexamethylene-guanidine hydrochloride is compatible with the other reagents that are used in water technology and can be employed in water treatment process schemes without a significant reconstruction of treatment facilities, while it does not cause metal corrosion and does not require special complicated equipment.

PHMG-HCH has a deodorizing effect, attaches the prolonged germicidal effect to the processing surface, which may be stored from 3 days to 8 months, depending on the surface and the other external factors, what makes this product a unique biocide with “prolonged action”.

Toxicity of PHMG-HCH: it refers to the third class of moderately hazardous substances when it gets into the stomach, and to the fourth class of low-hazard substance while applying it on the skin, by government standard 12.1.007-76. The active agent does not cause irritation in concentration 0.05-4% by a single skin exposure. When using PHMG-HCH in concentration 0.1-4% in the form of aerosols, it causes irritation of the respiratory system, and in this case is related to hazardous substances.
